Relief for Victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico

For weeks, even months, after the devastating Hurricane Maria, much of Puerto Rico was still mostly without electricity and potable water, and many people lost their jobs or were not able to go back to work. In some areas the grocery store shelves were bare and some families’ savings were running dry.

Led by members of MWEG who were born in Puerto Rico, and working with LDS bishops and social workers on the island, MWEG gained information on families, individuals, and shelters that needed help. Many MWEGers joined with their families, companies, Relief Societies, and others to put together relief packages containing food, diapers, bedding, towels, baby food, basic hygiene items, lanterns, games, and so forth support the people of Puerto Rico.

Thank you to our many volunteers who contributed to this effort!
