There is something we can all do TODAY that could help prevent millions of people from starving to death. Right now, it is estimated that 130 children per day are dying in Yemen. We need both divine intervention and the immediate action of citizens and legislators to fix this. The Senate is scheduled to vote on a bipartisan resolution this week that would end U.S. backing of the Saudi-led war that is causing the conditions. So far, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, and Finland have all acted. The U.S. needs to join them immediately! Please do these things right now:
1) Pray right now for hearts to be softened, for our political leaders to have moral courage, and for those with influence to be guided by God in their efforts.
2) Call both of your Senators and your Representative ASAP. Information and a possible script are posted below. A bi-partisan resolution sponsored by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), and Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) will be voted on by the Senate this week.
3) Donate, if you can, to the reputable organizations that are working to feed millions.
Save the Children UNICEF International Rescue Committee (IRC) CARE US Norwegian Refugee Council
4) Share this information far and wide and persuade others to call their Congressional representatives today!

These precious children of God are relying upon our faith, our optimism, our generosity, and our bold efforts on their behalf. Let’s get on our knees and then get to work!
Onward!

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP].
I’m calling to urge Senator [NAME] to support Senate Joint Resolution 54 and oppose any future arms deals with or military support for Saudi Arabia. The Senator has a fleeting opportunity to protect millions of children in Yemen from war and starvation. Will Senator [NAME] be voting yes on the resolution this week?
[IF YES] Please express my gratitude to Senator [NAME]. If s/he hasn’t already, would the Senator please support the measure publicly in order to persuade others to join as well? Thank you so much for your time.
[IF NO] As a constituent, I find that deeply disappointing. Can you please give me more information about the Senator’s position? You are welcome to email me at [EMAIL]. Thank you for your time.
[IF UNDECIDED] I strongly urge the Senator to support this resolution immediately and publicly. Please pass along the message that her/his constituents are eager for her/him to demonstrate moral leadership on this important issue by voting yes on this resolution. I will call back tomorrow for an update. Thank you for your time.”
